National Honors

AUSTIN, Texas Senior Travis Mabe (SR/Deford, Mich.) of the Cornerstone University Track & Field Team made school history today as he along with Brittany Murray were named CU's first ever Capital One First Team Academic All-Americans. The honor, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), comes as the final straw in the cap for the pair of athletes with illustrious career in their time at Cornerstone.

#4 - Falland and Murray sweep outdoor WHAC T&F Most Valuable Performer honors

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Seniors Louis Falland (SR/Nuriootpa, Australia) and Brittany Murray (SR/Monclova, Ohio.) concluded their illustrious careers in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference with MVP honors at the outdoor conference championships on Friday. Each earned the most points of any individual to leave the WHAC on top. Falland helped the men's team to a third place showing while Murray led the CU women to third as well.

GULF SHORES, Ala. – The final day of the 2015 NAIA Outdoor National Championships brought one of the most grueling events of the meet as Travis Mabe (SR/Deford, Mich.) pulled the curtain on the Cornerstone men's track & field season with a fifth place showing in the Marathon. The All-American honor is the second in as many days for the senior distance runner. The men finished 23rd in the final team standings.

GULF SHORES, Ala. – Day two of the 2015 NAIA Outdoor National Championships opened with an All-American mark in the 10,000 from Travis Mabe (SR/Deford, Mich.) and closed with a second one for the Golden Eagles as Brent Dunn (FR/Hobart, Ind.) finished fifth in the 5,000m Race Walk. The men's team will have one more competitor on the final day as Mabe runs in the marathon starting at 7 a.m. EDT.

Men's Academic All-District | Women's Academic All-District

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The 2014-15 Capital One Academic All-District® Track & Field/Cross Country Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Cornerstone placed nine on the pair of teams with three on the men's side and six on the women's. They all now move on to the national ballot for Academic All-American status.
