Daktronics-NAIA Women's Soccer Scholar-Athletes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its Daktronics Scholar-Athlete Teams on Friday and Cornerstone placed four from the women's soccer team under head coach Randy Strawser. Senior Kate Wiegman (SR/Wheaton, Ill.) was joined by juniors Anna Buffum (JR/Wyoming, Mich.), Josie Litty (JR/Hudsonville, Mich.) and Teigan Mitcham (JR/Grand Rapids, Mich.).

Academic All-America® Soccer Teams

AUSTIN, Texas – The Capital One Academic All-American Women's Soccer Teams were announce by CoSIDA Thursday afternoon and senior Kate Wiegman (SR/Wheaton, Ill.) was voted by Sports Information Directors as a 2nd Team All-American. The defender led the Golden Eagles to a 10-5-4 record and an appearance in the WHAC Semifinals.

ADRIAN, Mich. – After upsetting No. 3 seed Aquinas in the first round of the WHAC Tournament, the hopes of making the title match were diminished today by No. 2 and nationally ranked No. 18 Siena Heights. The women's soccer team could not overcome a fast start by the Saints as they fell 3-0. The loss ends the 2014 campaign for the Golden Eagles with a 10-5-4 overall record.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Cornerstone women's soccer team opened up postseason play today and they survived and will advance in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) thanks to a win in penalty kicks over rival Aquinas. The two teams ended regulation and the two overtime periods scoreless and CU went on to win 6-5 on penalties. Cornerstone, the No. 6 seed, advances to Saturday's semi-final where they will meet No. 2 seed Siena Heights.

All-WHAC Honors

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has released its honors for the women's soccer season and Cornerstone was well represented on each team. Teigan Mitcham (JR/Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Lexie Brisson-Fast (JR/Ferndale, Mich.) made the First Team while Kerri Hoffman (JR/Hamilton, Mich.) was recognized on the Honorable Mention squad. CU landed five players on the Academic Team.
