GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Capital One Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team was announce by CoSIDA Thursday afternoon and senior Kate Wiegman (SR/Wheaton, Ill.) earned the nod after being voted in by Sports Information Directors from District 1 that includes 21 states as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. The defender has led the Golden Eagles to a 10-3-3 record heading into Saturday's regular season finale against No. 21 Siena Heights.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Morgan Haddad (FR/Troy, Ohio) scored in the opening half and Lexanna Siemasz (SO/Waterford, Mich.) added an insurance tally in the second to lift the women's soccer team to a 2-0 shutout win over visiting Saint Xavier. The victory lifts the Golden Eagles to 10-3-3 on the year as they will conclude the regular season on Saturday vs. Siena Heights in a 4:30 p.m. kickoff.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. –The visiting Crusaders made the most of very limited opportunities on Saturday afternoon as they came away with the only goal of the match to defeat the Golden Eagles 1-0. The loss drops head coach Randy Strawser and his team to 9-3-3 on the season and 4-3-1 in league play. CU will return to action on Tuesday when they host Saint Xavier (Ill.).
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – With a chance to move into second place in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, the women's soccer team posted a 2-2 draw at No. 22 Davenport on Wednesday night. The tie leaves the Golden Eagles at 9-2-3 overall and 4-2-1 in the WHAC which is good for a tie for third. Cornerstone will come back home for a Saturday 4:30 kick against Madonna University on Saturday.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Cornerstone Women's Soccer team got an early goal from Mykayla Denison (FR/Muskegon, Mich.) only to see Marygrove tie it up late but a goal with just seven minutes to play from Lexie Brisson-Fast (JR/Ferndale, Mich.) helped CU escape with a 2-1 win. The victory lifts CU to 9-2-2 on the season while they are now 4-2-0 in league play and in a tie for third. CU will travel to No. 19 Davenport next Wednesday for a 7 p.m. kick against the Panthers.
