GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Looking to pull off an upset against their cross-town rival Panthers, the women's basketball team struggled to finish the first half and then No. 2 DU expanded the lead in the second to down CU 76-48. The loss is the first against an NAIA foe since December 6 for Cornerstone as they fall to 15-7 on the year and 10-4 in league play. CU will look to rebound next Wednesday when they face Lourdes in Sylvania, Ohio.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Over the years, the Cornerstone women's basketball team has pulled off numerous upsets in the rivalry with Davenport and they will look for one more as they meet the No. 2 ranked and undefeated Panthers on Saturday at 1 p.m. DU won the first meeting this year but CU has won 10 out of 11 games since and has not lost to an NAIA foe since that setback on December 6.
DEARBORN, Mich. – The Cornerstone women's basketball team will bring a 6-game winning streak and 10 in a row over NAIA foes into their Beltline Battle with No. 2 Davenport after picking up an 82-60 victory over UM-Dearborn on Wednesday night. The win, which came after calling the game with over 30 seconds to play due to a lights malfunction, lifts the Golden Eagles to 15-6 on the year and 10-3 in league play.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – For the first time since falling out of the poll completely before Christmas, head coach Katie Mattera and her Golden Eagles received nine votes in the latest NAIA Top-25 and they will take a nine game winning streak over NAIA foes into a 3-game road trip starting Wednesday at UM-Dearborn. Cornerstone last defeated the Wolverines on December 3 by the final of 70-50.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Cornerstone women's basketball team made the best of their five-game stretch without having to leave Grand Rapids as they picked up an 82-58 victory over Concordia on Saturday afternoon. The win, which gives CU a season sweep of the Cardinals, lifts them to 14-6 on the year and 9-3 in the conference. Cornerstone will hit the road for their next three games beginning Wednesday at UM-Dearborn.
