LYNCHBURG. Va. - Head women's basketball coach Katie Mattera is back in her college hometown of Lyncburg, Va. this weekend as the athletic department will be inducting her into their Hall of Fame. Mattera is one of five from the class of 2015 that includes representatives from football, women's basketball, baseball and wrestling.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Former Michigan State Spartan and 2015 NBA Champion Draymond Green is hosting his annual basketball camp next week here on the campus of Cornerstone University. The camp, which features kids aged 7-15, will run from Monday, August 3 through Wednesday the 5th. The camp will conclude with an All-Star game at Forest Hills Northern featuring many of Green's former teammates at MSU.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The ninth annual Champions of Character High School All-Star basketball games are set for Wednesday, June 17 at Cornerstone University's Mol Arena. Co-Director's of the game Pete Rusticus and Steve Prawdzik have compiled a pair of boy's and girl's teams to compete one last time in front of their hometown fans as game times are set for 5:30 p.m. for the girls and 7p.m for the boys.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The second annual Champions of Character College All-Star basketball games are set for Wednesday, March 25 at Davenport University's Student Center. The national championship Cornerstone men's basketball team will be represented by Ty Mason (SR/Comstock Park, Mich.) and Justin Pepper (SR/Wayland, Mich.) while the women's team will see Jill Hendrickson (JR/Ada, Mich.) and Ashley Niedermayer (SR/Lincolnshire, Ill) suit up one more time. Game times are 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Jill Hendrickson (JR/Ada, Mich.) received Honorable Mention All-American honors for the second straight season as announced by the NAIA National Office on Wednesday afternoon. The junior post player posted averages of 15.1 points and 10.1 rebounds per game while leading the Golden Eagles to a 22-10 overall record.
