Big South Release

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Head women's basketball coach Katie Mattera is one of four that will be inducted into the Big South Conference Hall of Fame. The announcement was made by the conference on April 27 and Mattera will join Amber Campbell, Vicki Griffin and Alan Connie in the ceremony on June 2 in Hilton Head, S.C.

2016 Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athletes

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Monday that 253 Division II women's basketball student-athletes have been named 2015-16 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Cornerstone had three of those in senior Tanner Hostetler (SR/Archbold, Ohio) and juniors Emma Lockhart (JR/Reed City, Mich.) and Alyssa Van Ham (JR/Jenison, Mich.).

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Cornerstone trailed by just five points at the break by a poor third quarter led to a big deficit that the Golden Eagles could not climb out of as they fell to Indiana Tech in the WHAC Quarterfinals by a final of 68-58. The loss concludes the 2015-16 campaign with an overall record of 16-14.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Cornerstone women's basketball team had a tough last week of the regular season but now the records reset as the WHAC Tournament gets underway on Thursday as CU travels to Indiana Tech for a 7 p.m. tip. The Golden Eagles are the No. 5 seed while the host Warriors are No. 4. The winner will advance to Saturday's semifinals to meet either Davenport or Concordia.

2015-16 All-WHAC Women's Basketball

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference announced their post-season honors today for women's basketball and Cornerstone placed seven different student athletes on the various teams. Leading the way is freshman Jesse Sheridan (FR/Argyle, Texas) who earned First Team and All-Freshman Team honors. The Golden Eagles will open the WHAC Tournament on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Indiana Tech.
