2015 Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athletes - WSOC

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its Daktronics Scholar Athletes today and Cornerstone placed six on the list of 588 from around the country. Earning the nod were seniors Josie Litty (SR/Hudsonville, Mich.) and Teigan Mitcham (SR/Grand Rapids, Mich.) as well as juniors Hayley Mohr (JR/West Olive, Mich.), Shannon Morse (JR/Lake Odessa, Mich.), Lexanna Siemasz (JR/Waterford, Mich.) and Bria West (JR/Holland, Mich.).

LIMA, Ohio – Looking to pull a huge upset in the semifinals of the WHAC Tournament, the Cornerstone women's soccer team was unable to overcome the No. 2 ranked Racers of Northwestern Ohio as they fell 5-0. CU concludes the season with an overall record of 13-7.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.  – Alexys Riksen (FR/Grand Haven, Mich.) put the Golden Eagles on the board in the 65' and Lexie Brisson-Fast (SR/Ferndale, Mich.) added the insurance goal just nine minutes later to lead Cornerstone to a 2-0 win over Concordia. The victory in the WHAC Tournament opener, sends the Golden Eagles into Saturday's semifinal round at NAIA No. 2 Northwestern Ohio.

2015 Women's Soccer All-WHAC Honors

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has released its honors for the women's soccer season and Cornerstone was well represented on each team. Kerri Hoffman (SR/Hamilton, Mich.) made the First Team while Teigan Mitcham (SR/Grand Rapids, Mich.) was recognized on the Honorable Mention squad. CU landed eight players on the Academic Team.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Postseason play is officially here for the Cornerstone women's soccer team as they will play host to Concordia University on Wednesday at 2 p.m. The Golden Eagles and Cardinals tied for the fourth seed in the conference tourney but CU owns the tie-breaker thanks to the 2-1 win in late October. The winner will advance to Saturday's semifinal at a site and time to be determined.
