GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Megan Newhouse (SR/Grand Haven, Mich.) led the Golden Eagles with 11 kills while the defense shut down the Saints' offense in a 3-0 win on Wednesday night vs. Aquinas. The victory lifts Cornerstone to 16-6 on the year while they are now 9-3 in the WHAC. CU has the weekend off as they will return to action next Wednesday at Madonna.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – With only one match on the slate this week for head coach Ryan Campbell and his volleyball team, the Golden Eagles thought they should celebrate with a turn back the clock night to the 80's. CU and Aquinas will meet for the second time this season as the league starts its second go-round of WHAC matches.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Johanna Egerer (SR/Plymouth, Wisc.) finished off a 4-0 week for the Golden Eagles as the senior middle hitter set a conference record for hitting percentage to lead CU to a 3-0 win over Concordia. Egerer posted a .867 hitting percentage as Cornerstone improves to 15-6 on the year and 8-3 in WHAC play. CU will start the second round of league action on Wednesday when they host Madonna at 7 p.m.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles got two strong offensive matches from Johanna Egerer (SR/Plymouth, Wisc.) and Michaela Van Koevering (SO/Jenison, Mich.) on Friday night as they defeated UM-Dearborn and Great Lakes Christian to improve to 14-6 on the season. The Golden Eagles will remain at home on Saturday as they wrap up the first half of the league season against Concordia at 1 p.m.
LIMA, Ohio – Cornerstone ended a short 2-match losing skid on Wednesday night as they rebounded from an opening-set loss to down the host Racers of Northwestern Ohio 3-1. Playing their second straight match in the Buckeye stats, the Golden Eagles picked up the win to improve to 12-6 on the year and 6-3 in league play. CU will host three matches this weekend beginning Friday at 4 p.m. against Great Lakes Christian.
