David Mitroff enters his second year at the helm of Cornerstone Universities Baseball program. The Golden Eagles finished their inaugural 2013 season with a record of 16-26 overall, 10-16 in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference.
The 2013 squad narrowly missed qualifying for post season play in the WHAC tournament. Cornerstone lost 6 WHAC conference games by one run. Three of those one run losses were to powerhouse Madonna who was ranked 16th in the nation. Mitroff returns the majority of his young squad for 2014 along with a very strong recruiting class.

He has also coached at the high school level and extensively within travel baseball organizations. He also served as the head coach for Illinois Select Baseball. He pioneered events such as the Baseball Leadership Summit and P.I.T.C.H. (players investing toward community help) which mentors coaches and trained student athletes.
Before completing his degree from Bethel University in 1983 in business administration he played and was Bethel’s starting catcher for three years from 1979 to 1982.
He is married to Linda Lee Mitroff of Palatine IL and has three adult children Melanie Good (28) Corinne VanArsdale (27) and David N Mitroff (23)
