Mark Bell enters his 15th season as the Men's Soccer Coach at Cornerstone University. In thirteen seasons with the Golden Eagles, Bell has compiled a 142-107-27 record while coaching 1 MLS draft pick, 10 NAIA All-American-HM selections, 12 All-Region selections, 3 WHAC Players of the Year, 27 All-Conference honorees and 12 Academic All-Americans. Bell has been named WHAC Coach of the Year on four occasions (2000, 2004, 2006, and 2011) and Champions of Character Coach of the Year two occasions (2007 and 2011).
Prior to coming to Cornerstone, Bell spent 3 seasons as an Assistant Coach at the University of Mass/Boston (‘95-‘97). He helped the Beacon's to their only ECAC New England Tournament appearance with a 13-5-2 record. Bell also served as an Assistant Coach for North Park College in Chicago, Ill (‘87-‘90). Highlights include helping program go from a 2-14 season to 2 winning seasons and appearances in CCIW Conference playoff finals.
Bell attended Wheaton College (‘79-‘83) where he made two NCAA tournament appearances and played under NSCA Hall of Fame Coach Joe Bean. He also competed abroad in Europe with Lay Witness for Christ. In addition to his coaching duties, he teaches as an adjunct for the Kinesiology Department at Cornerstone. He has also taken the men's program on mission's trips to the Ukraine, Brazil, Dominican Republic and most recently to Zambia.
Mark and his wife Catherine, have two sons Zack and Josh. Catherine is a professor for Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.
