3rd Season
David Vander Meer enters his third season as assistant coach for Cornerstone University volleyball. David is the president and coach of Carpe Diem Volleyball Club. He has been coaching volleyball for over 17 years. In 2007, he led the Tri-Unity Christian varsity team to the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) state finals. David has his CAP (Coaching Accreditation Program) Level 1 and is a USAV certified beach coach.
On top of coaching, David is a prominent volleyball official. He currently officiates the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) professional beach tour along with the Midwest Athletic Conference (MAC) and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). David is also a national official with USA Volleyball and the Professional Association of Volleyball Officials.
David is married to Michelle and has five children David Ryan, Megan, Sydney, Jennifer, and Nathanael. Dave and his family reside in Grand Rapids and are members of La Grave Ave. Christian Reformed Church.
