CHEBOYGAN, Wis. – Sam Vos (SR/Grand Haven, Mich.) brought back the highlight of the day as the senior posted a hole-in-one on the par-3 17th hole in route to leading his team to a 325 team score in the Kohler Collegiate Classic. Vos finished with a 79 as Cornerstone finds themselves in 16th place after 18 holes of play. The 18 participating teams will resume play on Tuesday at Whistling Straight GC.
DETROIT, Mich. – Zach Ripley had a standout career at Cornerstone and the success continues post-graduation as the alum won the Detroit Free Press/Talmer Bank Half Marathon on Sunday. Ripley posted a time of 1:05:11 to win the international race that had over 27,000 registrations.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Cornerstone Women's Soccer team got an early goal from Mykayla Denison (FR/Muskegon, Mich.) only to see Marygrove tie it up late but a goal with just seven minutes to play from Lexie Brisson-Fast (JR/Ferndale, Mich.) helped CU escape with a 2-1 win. The victory lifts CU to 9-2-2 on the season while they are now 4-2-0 in league play and in a tie for third. CU will travel to No. 19 Davenport next Wednesday for a 7 p.m. kick against the Panthers.
BRIGHTON, Mich. – Caleb Colp (FR/Stevensville, Mich.) scored a pair of goals and Nick Hopkins (SO/Ada, Mich.) finished with his fourth shutout of the season in net as the duo led the Golden Eagles to a 3-0 win at UM-Dearborn on Saturday afternoon. The victory, which is the first in the last five matches, lifts CU to 4-9-1 on the season and 2-4-1 in league play. Cornerstone will host No. 1 Davenport on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
LIMA, Ohio – Cornerstone played their first of three crossovers in league play on Saturday and they came away with a perfect 2-0 mark as they defeated Marygrove College and Lawrence Tech. The two victories lift head coach Ryan Campbell and his team to 18-8 on the season and 9-6 in league play. CU will have five home matches next week beginning Wednesday against Siena Heights at 7 p.m.
