GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Head baseball coach David Mitroff recently added a local standout to his 2015 recruiting class as he signed Jenison standout Troy Holstad. The Wildcat is in the middle of his senior season and helped lead the school to a District and Regional title in 2014. Holstad will join the Golden Eagles in the fall of 2015.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The 2015-16 women's bowling roster is now complete as head coach Mike Hall is pleased to announce the signing of Saline's Sierra Flack. The most recent signing for the women's bowling program gives Hall 10 student athletes for the inaugural season in which the Golden Eagles will compete in the WHAC and USBC.
GULF SHORES, Ala. – A historic senior class for the Cornerstone women's track and field team saw their careers come to a close today with a 9th place showing at the 2015 NAIA Outdoor National Championships. CU posted three more All-Americans on the final day as Leah Shepherd (SR/Grand Rapids, Mich.) finished seventh in the Marathon, Anita Souza (SR/Varginha, Brazil.) seventh in the 100m hurdles and Julie Oosterhouse (SR/Byron Center, Mich.) seventh in the 800m.
GULF SHORES, Ala. – The final day of the 2015 NAIA Outdoor National Championships brought one of the most grueling events of the meet as Travis Mabe (SR/Deford, Mich.) pulled the curtain on the Cornerstone men's track & field season with a fifth place showing in the Marathon. The All-American honor is the second in as many days for the senior distance runner. The men finished 23rd in the final team standings.
GULF SHORES, Ala. – Day two of the 2015 NAIA Outdoor National Championships brought four All-American plaques to the Cornerstone women's track and field team as Brittany Murray (SR/Monclova, Ohio.) placed second in the Heptathlon and fourth in the Long Jump while Kayla Ovokaitys (JR/Cedar Springs, Mich.) and Melissa Manlan (JR/Kalamazoo, Mich.) went 7-8 in the 5,000m Race Walk. The final day will feature the Marathon, High Jump, Discus, 100m Hurdles and 800m for the women.
