GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – With one week to go before the conference championship, Cornerstone seniors positioned themselves at the top of the WHAC performance lists. Spreading themselves over three meets and three days, the Golden Eagles added new national qualifying marks and a school record.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles competed in three meets over a three day span, reaping the benefits of late season fitness and putting up five national qualifying marks. CU was represented at the Hillsdale College – Gina Relays, Aquinas' Ernie Mousseau and Goshen's Maple Leaf Race Walk Invitational.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone went into their final regular season games knowing that they needed to sweep and get some help in order to make the WHAC tournament. Unfortunately they lost both games of the double header to Concordia so their season comes to an end with a 17-17 overall record.
SYLVANIA, Ohio. – After falling in a heartbreaking 5-4 decision in 13 innings to open the day, Cornerstone got a gem from junior Justin Geerts (JR/Surrey, B.C.) to take the nightcap 3-0 and split the doubleheader at Lourdes. The 1-1 day leaves the Golden Eagles at 23-28 on the year and 14-18 in league play. CU will finish the regular season with a 4-game series at Siena Heights on Thursday and Friday.
SYLVANIA, Ohio. – The offense came alive for the Golden Eagle baseball team on Friday afternoon as they accounted for 19 runs on 30 hits in a doubleheader sweep of Lourdes University. The pair of wins lift Cornerstone to 22-27 on the year as they have now won 12 of their last 16 games. The two teams will play another DH on Saturday with the start time bumped up to 11 a.m.
