GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After picking up a conference-opening win over Lawrence Tech last weekend, the Cornerstone men's tennis team returned to action on Friday against the best from the Crossroads League in Indiana Wesleyan. Unfortunately, the Golden Eagles came out on the losing end of a 7-2 decision to the Wildcats. The loss drops CU to 16-2 as they will return to action on April 8 at Davenport.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Head women's bowling coach Mike Hall is pleased to announce Lee High School's Aimee Lofgren as his third signee. The program, which will begin in 2015-16 and compete at the WHAC and USBC levels, has a strong start to the recruiting process and it was made better today with one of the top placers in the state of Michigan for high school bowling.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In a doubleheader that was originally scheduled for Wednesday, the cross-town Panthers were too much for the Golden Eagles as they swept the pair of games 13-2 and 3-2. The pair of losses drops Cornerstone to 8-15 on the season and 1-5 in league action. CU will return to play on Friday and Saturday in a 4-game series at Madonna University.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The second annual Champions of Character College All-Star basketball games are set for Wednesday, March 25 at Davenport University's Student Center. The national championship Cornerstone men's basketball team will be represented by Ty Mason (SR/Comstock Park, Mich.) and Justin Pepper (SR/Wayland, Mich.) while the women's team will see Jill Hendrickson (JR/Ada, Mich.) and Ashley Niedermayer (SR/Lincolnshire, Ill) suit up one more time. Game times are 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
