BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Competing against some of the best NCAA DI and DII schools in the region, the women's track and field team brought home five national qualifiers all while shattering a school record at Indiana University's Gladstein Invitational. CU will return to action next weekend at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.
FINDLAY, Ohio – The Findlay Classic marks the midway point of the indoor season and the women's track and field team posted four national marks all in the Racewalk over the weekend. Brianna Griffiths (SR/Roselle, Ill.), Melissa Manlan (JR/Kalamazoo, Mich.), Kayla Ovokaitys (JR/Cedar Springs, Mich.) and Bailey Brogan (SO/Kalamazoo, Mich.) all will compete in the NAIA Indoor National Championships thanks to a strong finish in Ohio. CU will resume action next weekend at Indiana Wesleyan in the Wildcat Invitational.
FINDLAY, Ohio – The young men's track and field lineup continues to show vast improvement as they enter the second half of the indoor season and that showed Friday and Saturday at the Findlay Classic. The team will now have a week off before heading into Indiana to compete at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – No. 7 Cornerstone held a 60-58 lead over No. 5 Davenport but the host Panthers closed out the game on a 20-14 run to even the season series at 1-1 with a 78-72 win. The loss, the first for Cornerstone since December 13, drops the Golden Eagles to 17-5 on the year and 11-3 in the WHAC. CU will look to rebound on Wednesday when they play on the road against Lourdes.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Looking to pull off an upset against their cross-town rival Panthers, the women's basketball team struggled to finish the first half and then No. 2 DU expanded the lead in the second to down CU 76-48. The loss is the first against an NAIA foe since December 6 for Cornerstone as they fall to 15-7 on the year and 10-4 in league play. CU will look to rebound next Wednesday when they face Lourdes in Sylvania, Ohio.
