CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Audrey Tremaine (SR/Jackson, Mich.) has the women's cross country team slowly climbing the NAIA ranks and after moving into the Top-25 this past week, the Golden Eagles had a strong showing at the Royals XC Challenge hosted by Queen's (N.C.). The meet was run at the site of the NAIA National Championships in mid-November.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Sophomore Trevor Curtis (SO/Belding, Mich.) ran a new personal record at the course that will host the 2015 NAIA Cross Country championships later this fall and he helped the Golden Eagles to a 14th place finish on Friday afternoon. Cornerstone will return to the course in two weeks at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge hosted by Aquinas College.
WYOMING, Mich. – The Golden Eagles travelled across town to Wyoming to make up a game that was cancelled due to a power outage back on Sept. 15th and CU came away with a 2-0 victory over Grace Bible. The win lifts Cornerstone to 8-4 overall as they will have the weekend off before resuming play Wednesday at home against Indiana Tech.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Kerri Hoffman (SR/Hamilton, Mich.) opened and closed the scoring for the Golden Eagles tonight as they posted a 3-0 victory over Lourdes in WHAC action. The win lifts Cornerstone to 7-4 on the year and 2-2 in league play as they will step out of conference to makeup the Grace Bible game on Friday on the road.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Megan Newhouse (SR/Grand Haven, Mich.) led the Golden Eagles with 11 kills while the defense shut down the Saints' offense in a 3-0 win on Wednesday night vs. Aquinas. The victory lifts Cornerstone to 16-6 on the year while they are now 9-3 in the WHAC. CU has the weekend off as they will return to action next Wednesday at Madonna.
