FORT WAYNE, Ind. – After traveling to UNOH on Saturday, the women's soccer team hit the road again and came away with a 4-1 win over the Warriors of Indiana Tech. Cornerstone went down 1-0 after 10 minutes but got four unanswered goals to pick up their first league win and improve to 6-1-2 overall. CU will now host Concordia on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – On a night in which over 800 people surrounded the CU soccer field in support of the men's team and the night of nets fundraiser, the Golden Eagles got the lone goal of the match from freshman Casey Zimmerman as they downed Siena Heights 1-0. The victory lifts the team to 3-5-1 on the year and 1-0-1 in league play. CU will host Concordia on Saturday at 7 p.m.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The visiting Northwestern Ohio Racers proved to be a little too much for the host Golden Eagles on Wednesday night as CU fell in four sets. The Racers and Golden Eagles split the opening two sets but UNOH took the final two 25-18, 26-24 to win their seventh straight WHAC match. The loss drops Cornerstone to 14-6 overall and 5-4 in league play as they will face UM-Dearborn on Friday on the road.
PLYMOUTH, Mich. – Whitney Krieger (SO/Byron Center, Mich.) posted a round of 92 to lead the women's golf team to a ninth place finish on Tuesday at WHAC Jamboree No. 4 which was hosted by Madonna University. Cornerstone as a team finished at 425 which was 44 shots behind eighth place Lourdes. CU will conclude their fall season on October 11 at Siena Heights.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagle cross country teams took home the top individual honors this week from the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference as Julie Oosterhouse and Kevin Vroegh each were named the Runners of the Week. Both helped their teams to solid finishes in the Augustana Brissman/Lundeen Invitational.
