Jim Farrell
Head Coach - 11th Season

Jim is in his 19th year with the CU women's softball program (8 years as an assistant, and 11 years as the head coach). Coach Farrell graduated from Cornerstone University in 1988 with a degree in Physical Education. While at Cornerstone, he played baseball, winning three MVP Awards, while consistently leading the team in home runs, RBI's, and batting average. He coached two years of high school baseball before moving to the exciting sport of fastpitch softball.

As head coach, Farrell's teams have accumulated over 200 wins, 4 WHAC Tournament titles, 3 Region 8 Tournament championships, and 3 appearances in the NAIA National Championship Tournament. Coach Farrell was one of just a few coaches to graduate in the first class from the National Fastpitch Coaches College. He is recognized at a "4 Star" Master Coach by the NFCC.

While Farrell loves the game of softball and the opportunity to coach at the college level, he is even more passionate about being able to mentor his players and coaches toward a more consistent and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ. "When 4 years of college softball comes to an end for our players, our greatest desire and prayer is that each one will have matured significantly in all the key areas of life and especially in their walk with Jesus." - Jim Farrell

Coach Farrell lives in Grand Rapids, happily married to his wife of 20 years, Shari, raising three sons, David (14), John (12), and Ben (9). "God has truly blessed me with a wonderful family, and the opportunity to work and serve at a wonderful institution in Cornerstone University. I am so thankful!" - Jim Farrell
