Melissa Veltkamp hit the first two baskets of the game for Cornerstone and the Golden Eagles were tied 4-4 at 18:13 but it would go downhill from there as the Saints made an 18-3 run over the next 11 minutes of play to go up 22-7 with 6:58 on the clock. Siena Heights finished out the half outscoring the Golden Eagles 15-7 down the stretch and took a commanding 37-14 lead into the locker room at the half. Cornerstone went 0-10 from long range in the first half of play. Cornerstone played much better in the second half getting to the basket more and drawing fouls.
