One week after just missing the NAIA provisional qualifying standard in his first mile race, Louis Falland ran the 1,000 meters at the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational Classic with similar results. After covering the first 400 meters in 61 seconds, the sophomore from Nuriootpa, Australia began moving toward the leaders. An excellent 60.9 for the final 400 meters brought him to the finish line in third place. "I looked at my watch and it was too close to tell if he made it or just missed it," said men's distance coach Nate Van Holten. Needing 2:33.80 for an NAIA provisional qualifying time, the PA announcer brought good news: 2:33.65, putting Falland third on the CU all-time list. Zach Bourdon placed fifth in a personal best 2:40.48.

The Golden Eagles finished in the top three in six other events.

Travis Mabe won the 3,000 meters, lowering his PR to 8:54.79 while Zach Yeo took second in the 400 meters (50.70) and Eric Schroeder was runner up in the 200 meters (23.52).

In the field events, Logan Norton took third in the pole vault, clearing 13' 11.25" and Bryant Langdon was also third in the 35 pound weight throw with a mark of 53' 1".

Schroeder and Yeo led off and anchored the 4 x 400 meter relay with Adam Duerksen and Spencer Perry in between. Their time of 3:27.57 was second behind conference rivals, Siena Heights 3:26.94.
