Cornerstone University and head baseball coach David Mitroff
are excited to announce the signing of Zach Bohl, an outfielder from Hudsonville High School in Hudsonville, Michigan. As a junior, Zach hit .349 from the left side of the plate while playing for current Cornerstone assistant coach, Ron Engels
. In a recent summer tournament, Bohl went 9-14 including a home run.
When Zach was asked about his choice of schools, he said, "When I first started receiving information from colleges in the mail my junior year, Cornerstone was the only non-baseball university whose mail I kept. Even though it didn't initially have baseball, Cornerstone was always in the back of my mind because I knew it was such an amazing school. When I heard about Jack DeWitt's donation and the beginning of a baseball team, I knew it was a sign. I thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ every night before I go to bed for giving me the chance to go to Cornerstone. I love the Christian atmosphere on campus, the quality education, the close-knit community, and the opportunity to be on the inaugural baseball team and start the program off on the right foot. I can't wait to put on that CU uniform!"
Coach Mitroff said, "Zach is an exceptional young man. You only had to be present at his signing to realize the impact he has on other people. Over forty people attended the event! We expect Zach to contribute to our baseball program from day one and are very pleased to add him to our team."
