GAME FLOW

The Golden took an early 15-5 lead behind 3 straight 3-pointers by Melissa Veltkamp. The Saints countered with a 7-0 run to cut to the lead to 15-12 and tied the game at 17-17 with 7:57 remaining in the first half. The Golden Eagles struggled on the offensive end over the next 4 minutes and were down 6 when baskets by Ashley Neidermayer, Janae Trombley and Sam Flietstra tied the game at 27-27 with 1:35 left. Sam Wolford would break the tie with two of her 12 points and the Saints took a 29-27 lead into the lockerroom.   

Siena Heights pushed the lead to 9 points with 8:40 remaining but the Golden Eagles tied the game for the 5^th time at 56-56 with 2:52 remaining. Nikki Hughes scored the game winning field goal with 2:33 remaining as neither team was able to score from the free-throw line or floor in the last two and a half minutes. Veltkamp stole an inbounds pass with 15 seconds remaining and after two timeouts the Saints defense kept the Golden Eagles from getting a shot off.
