WEST LAFAYETTE, IN (1/7) Purdue University hosted Cornerstone and two other teams at their invitational held in Lambert Fieldhouse. The Golden Eagles placed in the top four in twelve events, including two personal bests and a freshman record.
Junior, Bryant Langdon got things started taking fourth in the 35 pound weight throw with a 53' .25" toss. Freshman, Ross Raymond had a great series in the shot put, placing fourth. After adding an inch to his personal best on his third throw, Ross got within six inches of the freshman record in the fourth round. On his sixth and final attempt, he sent the 16 pound ball 43' 10.5" inches, breaking Steve Tuttle's freshman record of 43' 1.75" set in 2009 and coming within six inches of Joel Leong's school record.
In other field event action, Cameron Hill improved his PR in the high jump, tying for second with a leap of 6' .75". Logan Norton took third in the long jump, going 20' .25" and fourth in the pole vault with a 13' 11.25" clearance.
On the track, Jeshurun Washington and Eric Schroeder finished 3-4 in the 60 meter dash with Washington 1/100th ahead in 7.29. Washington also took fourth in the 200 meters, clocking 24.20. Zach Bourdon lowered his PR in the 600 meters with his third place finish in 1:26.89. John Klump was one spot back in 1:26.98. Zach Yeo broke up a quartet of Purdue men, taking fourth in the 400 meters in 51.18. Schroeder, Spencer Perry, Klumpp and Yeo finished the day with a third place finish in the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3:33.24.
