The Golden Eagles started out very slow today but the good news was that IU Northwest didn't really take advantage of it. The score was 10-12 with 7:56 left in the half. The Red Hawks outscored Cornerstone 10-7 over the last 7:56 of the half and went into the locker room with a 22-17 lead. Neither team played particularly well in the first half. Cornerstone came out in the second half and played much better taking their first lead (27-26) with 15:09 left in the game. IU Northwest grabbed the lead back at (28-27) but that would be the last time they would see the lead in the half. Cornerstone pushed the lead as high as nine (48-39) in with 3:09 left in the game but the Red Hawks didn't give up and they slowly closed the gap and tied the game (55-55) with :05 seconds on the clock on a 3-pointer. Melissa Veltkamp drove the length of the court but her shot went off of the back of the iron and the game went into overtime. Cornerstone took the early lead in the overtime and never gave it back as they ended the game with a 68-65 victory over IU Northwest.
