The Golden Eagles have had some late game heartbreakers this season but today they were on the other side of that as they scored late to tie Davenport and ended with a 2-2 tie after the overtimes. Davenport went up 1-0 in the 37th minute off of a corner kick that wasn't cleared and end up at the feet of Natalie McHale who finished it off with a one time shot. Paige Eli made it 2-0 just 7 minutes later and went into the half with all the momentum for them. The Golden Eagles came out strong in the second half of play and dictated play for most of the half. Maile Carigon
scored to make it 2-1 in the 72nd minute of play. Carigon volleyed home an Anna Stegink
cross from about 5 yards out to give the Golden Eagles a spark. Cornerstone continued to pressure the Panthers and hit pay dirt in the 89th minute of play. Defender Kate Wiegman
scored her 3rd goal of the season heading in a cross from Anna Stegink
. Neither team was able to score in the overtimes and the game ended in a 2-2 draw. Cornerstone will hit the road again to finish out WHAC play with a 12:00 kickoff at Indiana Tech on Saturday.
