MARION, IN (10/1) The 26^th ranked Golden Eagles travelled to Indiana Wesleyan to race against the 12^th ranked Wildcats and #20 Taylor University at the IWU CC Invitational.

The Sun snuck through the clouds just before race time but not enough to take the chill out of the fifteen mile per hour north wind. With most of the opening mile headed right into the wind, Jill Louisignau, Julie Oosterhouse and Audry Yonge stayed tucked into the large lead pack.

Things strung out in the mostly downwind second mile. Louisignau remained with the leaders while Oosterhouse and Yonge held position in the top fifteen and CallyAnne Wyma moved into the top twenty-five.

Taylor's Allison Steinbeck broke away for the win in a season best 18:41. Louisignau battled Taylor's Jenna Norris over the final 400 meters edging her out at the finish line by one second, clocking 18:58 for the runner-up spot. Oosterhouse outkicked another Taylor runner taking tenth in 19:21 with Yonge two places back in 19:28. Wyma worked her way into the awards placing 22^nd in 19:57. Mindy Lewis scored in 27^th at 20:17 as CU's number five runner.

Julia Contreras (20:23 / 30^th), Sydney Tremain (20:40 / 34^th) and Leah Shepherd (20:54 / 50^th) also ran well. Erin Laplander earned her second personal best in the last two meets taking 55^th in 21:22.

The hosts from IWU won with 39 points ahead of Taylor with 60 and Cornerstone's 71 in the seven team field.
