The Golden Eagles hosted Northland International (WI) today and walked off with a 2-1 victory.  Matt Osorio put the Golden Eagles on the board in the 24th minute of play on a 20 yard shot into the upper corner of the net.  Isaac Grotenhuis made it 2-0 in the 38th minute on an assist from Diego Bobadilla.  Northland Int. cut the score to 2-1 just before half when Mark Romig chipped a ball over GK Matt Roberts.  Northland would outshoot the Golden Eagles 5-3 in the second half but neither team was able to score and the Golden Eagles defeated the Pioneers 2-1.  Matt Roberts and James Gilpen split time in the nets for the win.  Cornerstone will return to action on Saturday when they take on Siena Heights at 3:30 p.m.  Come out and support the Golden Eagles as they host "Night of Nets" to help send bed nets to Africa to reduce Malaria.  A suggested donation of $6 can be given at the gate which will buy one bed net.
