The Golden Eagles faced a tough Spring Arbor team on a cold and rainy evening and came out on the short end of a 3-1 game. The Cougars struck first in the 9th minute of play to go up 1-0. The Golden Eagles evened the score in the 17th minute when
Riley Steen got on the end of a cross from
Maile Carigon and slotted the ball past the Cougars goalkeeper. Spring Arbor regained the lead just a few minutes later and could have added a couple more in the first half of play but they couldn't find the back of the net as they went into the lockerroom up 2-1. Cornerstone played much better in the 2nd half gaining a couple of chances and limiting the Cougars good chances but they still go a third goal on a long shot that looped over
Kathy Butt's head to make it 3-1 for the game. Cornerstone will return home for their next game with Cardinal Stritch with a late 5:00 p.m. kickoff.
