The Golden Eagles started well in the first half scoring in the 17th minute. Riley Steen
collected a ball from a Corner Kick and buried it in the upper left side of the goal to put the Golden Eagles up 1-0. The Wolves responded six minutes later themselves with a ball scored off of a Corner Kick to make it 1-1. Cardinal Stritch went up 2-1 in the 31st minute of play when Kara Casebolt hit a shot from the left side that got under GK Kathy Butt
. The Wolves went into halftime up 2-1. The Golden Eagles came out strong in the second half and tied the scored at 2-2 when Riley Steen
hit a long ball from the left side of the goal that hit the far post and went into the goal. The Golden Eagles continued to pressure the Wolves defense throughout the half and Laura Roerig
broke the tie in the 88th minute of play on a long shot from about 30 yards out. The Golden Eagles outshot the Wolves 11-6 on the game. Cornerstone improves to 2-4-1 on the season. Cornerstone will go back on the road to play Goshen College (IN) at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 20th.
