(Marion, Ind.) Amy Boyer set a personal record in the Heptathlon scoring 4847 points today to earn the Golden Eagles another 4 points in the team standings. Boyer finished as high as 3rd and no lower than 8th in each of the seven events in a field of 16 athletes. Boyer ran a 14.87 and finished 6th in the 100 Meter Hurdles. She cleared 5-3.00 and tied for 3rd in the High Jump. Boyer moved on to the Shot Put and threw 34-08.50 to place 4th overall in that event. She finished Day 1 running a 26.02 in the 200 Meter Dash. Amy opened Day 2 with the Long Jump and recorded a 17-6.25 on her first of 3 attempts to finish 4th in that event. Boyer moved on to the Javelin Throw and finished 5th overall with a mark of 103-09 on her 2nd of 3 attempts. Amy would finish 7th in the grueling 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:27.24. Natasha Miller from Biola won the event with 5310 points. Amy earned All-American honors in the event.
Junior Janelle Brown also earned All-American honors today in the 5000 Meter Race Walk. Brown completed the 5000 Meter course in 26:48.93 to finish 6th overall in the event. Brown earned 3 more team points for the Golden Eagles. Senior Kay-de Vaughn finished just 1 centimeter out of All-American honors in the Triple Jump. Vaughn jumped 39-01.75 on her 4th of 5 attempts and finished 7th overall in the Triple Jump. Vaughn earned 2 more team points for the Golden Eagles. Kayla Wilson just missed the finals in the 400 Meter Hurdles by .07 seconds. Wilson ran a 1:03.66 to finish 10th overall in the event. Cornerstone finished the day with 13 team points and in 14th place overall.
