The Golden Eagles ended their Hawaii trip with an exciting 1-0 overtime victory over Chaminade University tonight. Cornerstone was on the wrong end of the exciting finish against BYU-Hawaii but tonight they were the ones to walk off the field scoring the golden goal in the first overtime period. Isaac Grotenhuis
scored his 2nd goal of the season by pouncing on a rebound and putting it in the net 6:18 into the first overtime period to give the Golden Eagles their first win of the season. Cornerstone started a bit slow in the game with Chaminade outshooting them 4-3 in the first period but the Golden Eagles responded in the second period with a 9-5 shot advantage and outshot the Swords 4-2 in the OT period. Cornerstone improves to 1-2 on the season and will be returning home tomorrow. The Golden Eagles will remain on the road next weekend when they travel to Ohio to take on Malone on Friday and Walsh on Saturday.
