HOLLAND (9/3) The Golden Eagles opened the 2011 Cross Country season at the Vanderbilt Invitational hosted by Hope College. As is the case just about every year, the day was hot and humid at the rolling course behind Ridgepoint Church.

Sophomore, Jill Louisignau was the top Cornerstone finisher placing ninth in 19:58. Audry Yonge took 13^th, in 20:27. The next three CU finishers were freshmen Julie Oosterhouse (14^th / 20:40), Kaylee Carew (16^th / 21:19) and Leah Shepherd (17^th / 21:31).

The women placed third behind their hosts, the Flying Dutch, who are ranked 15^th in the NCAA Division III preseason poll, and Albion.

The season continues at the Calvin Invitational on September 17.
