GRAND RAPIDS (8/24) The Cornerstone University Women's Cross Country team enters the 2011 season ranked 28th in the NAIA preseason ratings released today.

This is the third time in the last five years CU has appeared in the preseason poll and their highest position since 2007.

"We're pleased to be noticed," said Coach Rod Wortley. "We have a great group of upperclassmen and some outstanding freshmen. They've all trained very hard this summer and I believe we are in a great position to gain more attention from the raters as the season progresses."

Cornerstone opens the 2011 campaign at the Vanderbilt Invitational hosted by Hope College at Ridge Point Community Church in Holland at 11:15 a.m. September 3.  For full poll click here.
