Cornerstone University welcomes Brittany Maki to the Women's Soccer Program. Brittany Maki from Jenison, Mich. has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Cornerstone beginning in the fall of 2011.
Brittany attended Unity Christian High in Hudsonville. Brittany played GK at Hudsonville H.S. for her first two years of high school and then transferred to Unity Christian for her last two seasons. She started as an outside midfielder her junior year until she tore her ACL in the 2010 playoffs. She started to play again in January and ended up tearing her ACL again so she missed her senior season. She had surgery in April and will most likely miss the 2011 season due to the injury but we will see how she progresses. She was named All-District two times in high school.
"I believe that Brittany is a great fit for our team. She can play both in the field and in the goal so she will make us more versatile. I know that she will be a great teammate and will do whatever she can to help the team even if that is from the bench next season."
Why she chose Cornerstone
"I have chosen to come to Cornerstone, because I feel and believe this college is the right fit for me and while playing soccer here also I can grow as a young woman, but also a follower of Christ.."
