Outdoor Track & Field - Thu, May. 26, 2011
Nearly 1,300 student-athletes are set to compete at the 2011 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, held May 26-28. The Outdoor Sports Complex in Marion, Ind., is home to the 60th Annual Men's and 31st Annual Women's events, which are hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University. Cornerstone is sending 15 athletes who have qualified 9 on the men's side and 6 on the women's side.
Kris Shear looks to take the podium after finishing 2nd in the race walk at the NAIA indoor championships. Cody Risch will be competing in racewalk as well. Alex Green (steeplechase), Travis Mabe (Marathon), John Klumpp (400 hurdles), Ryan Versen, Adam Duerksen and Zach Yeo will compete in the 400 hurdles and 4 x 400 relay.
For the women Amy Boyer looks to cap off an amazing career in the heptathlon and pole vault. Brandi Harr (pole vault), Jill Louisignau (steeplechase), Janelle Brown (racewalk), Monica Lawrence (racewalk) and Mindy Lewis (marathon) will also be representing the Golden Eagles.
