Game 1- Cornerstone University vs. Iowa Wesleyan College

The Golden Eagles started hot today as they scored ten runs in the first three innings as they went on to defeat Iowa Wesleyan 15-9. Madison Bucilla went 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored and 3 RBI's and Tahni Bruno went 4 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's to lead the Golden Eagle offense. Jessica Kuhlman had a hit and a run with 3 RBI's. Heidi Warmelink went 2 for 5 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI's. Lisa Peppel had 2 hits, 2 runs, and an RBI. Dinah Gruppen went 2 for 5 with a run scored. Lauren Pasciak went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's. Cornerstone pounded out 18 hits in the game. Madison Bucilla picked up the win on the mound improving to 2-1 on the season.

Game 2- Purdue North Central (Ill.) vs. Cornerstone University

Cornerstone continued their hot hitting into game 2 as they scored five runs in the first two innings against Purdue North Central. Heidi Warmelink homered in the first inning to give the Golden Eagles a 2-0 lead. Jessica Kuhlman had an RBI single and Lisa Peppel drove in two runs with a single in the second inning to put the Golden Eagles up 5-0. PNC scored a run in the bottom half of the inning to make it 5-1. Cornerstone added runs in the fourth and fifth inning to go up 7-1. Rachel Gruppen picked up an RBI on a single in the fifth inning. The Golden Eagles cruised up until the bottom of the seventh inning when PNC rallied with 3 hits and 3 runs to make the final score 7-4. Heidi Warmelink improved to 4-1 on the season in the circle.
