Jessica Kuhlman led Cornerstone University to a 2-0 week for the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Softball Player of the Week award while Madonna University's Jess Irwin earned Pitcher of the Week honors after breaking an NAIA national record.
 
A senior from Vicksburg, Mich., Kuhlman hit .625 with four of her five hits for extra bases. The centerfielder recorded three doubles and a home run as Cornerstone swept Aquinas College, 8-7, 9-3. Kuhlman scored five times and drove in five runs as the Golden Eagles improved to 19-11.
 
Irwin received her second weekly honor of the season after the senior set a new NAIA career strikeout record. Irwin went 2-0 on the week with 19 strikeouts and broke the record (1,257) in the second inning of a 6-0 win against University of Michigan-Dearborn. The Monroe, Mich. native now has 1,267 career strikeouts. Madonna improved to 31-8.
