Cornerstone University welcomes Brendan Powers to the Men's Soccer Program. Brendan is from Hudsonville, MI. and has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Cornerstone beginning in the fall of 2011.

High School experience: Brendan started two years at Hudsonville High School where he was primarily a defensive midfielder and sweeper . . . Team Captain 2010 . . . Class A - All District 2010 . . . HHS Defensive MVP 2010 . . . Club experience: played defense and started for the Georgetown Rangers Soccer Club for the past 10 years at the Select Level, most recently for Coach Rick Cowan on a team that featured several players from state championship teams (Unity Christian and South Christian). . . Personal: finished high school with a 4.16 GPA . . . National Honor Society member . . . drummer in the HHS Concert/Jazz/Pep bands, as well as in worship teams at Mars Hill Bible Church and Rush Creek Bible Church where he is an active member of both youth groups . . . fulfilled a two hour/day internship in the youth ministries department of Mars Hill Bible Church during this senior year . . . has served on 5 missions trips over HS career - 4 to Mississippi for Hurricane Katrina relief and one to Puerto Rico . . . Brendan is pursuing a double major in Communications/Youth Ministries before heading off to seminary . . . He chose CU as a result of the undeniably Christ centered culture and mission that is Cornerstone University - a fact that has shined through every single person on campus
