(Conway, S.C.) The Cornerstone Women's Track & Field team opened the outdoor season in warm, sunny South Carolina at the Coastal Carolina University Invitational.

Brandi Harr was CU's top performer, winning the pole vault. Her 11' 11.75" clearance was above the NAIA national qualifying standard. The senior from Grand Rapids joins an elite group of CU T&F athletes who have qualified for nationals eight times, the maximum number possible.

Mindy Lewis added another freshman record to her resume΄. Lewis took eighth in the 10,000 meters in 41:06.13 bettering the old mark set by Nicki Erler of 42:29.24 in 2007.

Other top finishes included the 4 x 800 meter relay team of Jill Louisignau, Julia Contreras, Amy Boyer and Kelly Peterson. Their 9:39.11 clocking was good for second place behind Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville's 9:32.33. Audry Yonge was eighth in the 1500 meters in 4:59 .16 and Peterson finished ninth in the 800 meters at 2:21.62.
