The Golden Eagles shot 56.9% (29-51) from the floor which
included 55.6% (10-18) from beyond the arc.
Cornerstone also shot 93.3% (14-15) from the foul line. Cornerstone kept Northwood about 30 points
under their season average which was 80.8 points per game.
The Golden Eagles came out with their game faces on tonight as the
defeated #2 Northwood 82-52 tonight to advance to their 2nd NAIA
title game tomorrow night. The Golden
Eagles won the 1999 National Championship. Cornerstone trailed 5-6 with 14:26 but they
would make a 36-14 run to end the half up 41-20 lead into the locker room. The Golden Eagles then extended that lead
throughout the second half to as much as 37 (80-43) with 3:18 left in the game.
Cornerstone went on to defeat Northwood 82-52.
Freshman Wes Hudson led the Golden Eagles with 18 points on 5 of 6
shooting from the field which included u of 5 from long range. Kelvin DeVries added 14 for the Golden
Eagles. Cornerstone had a very balanced
attack in the game. 12 players scored
points for Cornerstone. Cornerstone has
won by an average of 22 points per game at the National Tournament.
The Golden Eagles advances to the NAIA Final on Tuesday night at 10:00
p.m. EST. Cornerstone will play #13
University of Saint Francis, Ind. (67-64 winner over unseeded host College of
the Ozarks). Cornerstone defeated USF
92-89 in OT in Fort Wayne back on Nov. 16th.
