The Golden Eagles hit the glass again as the out
rebounded McPherson College 55-29. Cornerstone
shot 60% (21-35) from the field in the 2nd half to pull away from
McPherson. Five Golden Eagles (Bryan
Pasciak -14, Kelvin DeVries - 13, Justin Yoder - 13, Derek Kingshott - 13, and
Caleb Simons - 11) scored in double figures in the game. Ronald Bates scored 5 points to give him 1001
points in his career.
GAME FLOW
The Golden Eagles traded leads early in the game with the Bulldogs
today but McPherson wouldn't have the lead for long. Derek Kingshott made a free throw with 14:27 to
tie the score at 11-11 and then made the second to put the Golden Eagles up for
good in the game today. Cornerstone went
on to make a 17-8 run over the next 10 minutes of play to extend the lead to
29-19. The Golden Eagles outscored the
Bulldogs 9-4 to finish out the half and took a 38-23 lead into the locker
room. Cornerstone came out hot in the 2nd
half and made a 24-9 run in the first 8 ½ minutes of play to give Cornerstone a
30 point (62-32) lead. The Golden
Eagles maintained at least a 30 point lead for the remainder of the game and
push it to as high at 42 points (77-35) with 5:54 on the clock. The Golden Eagles reserves played for most of
the last five minutes and Cornerstone finished with an 87-52 win over
McPherson.

The Golden Eagles advances to the NAIA Final Four on Monday night at
9:00 p.m. EST. Cornerstone will play #2
Northwood, Fla. (83-59 winner over #7 Oklahoma Wesleyan. Unseeded host College of the Ozarks continued
with their upsets in defeating #9 Indiana Wesleyan 68-64 and will face #13 and
defending National Champ University of Saint Francis, Ind. (61-57 winner over
Davenport) in the first Semifinal game which will be played at 7:00 p.m.
