Heading into the seventh inning, Cornerstone led College of Saint Mary's 7-5. The Flames managed to score 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the score. The eighth inning became an international tie breaker and began with Jessica Kuhlman on second base. Kuhlman scored on Tahni Bruno's sacrifice bunt as the Flames third basemen overthrew first base. Warmelink then came in to pitch the bottom of the eighth to close the game.
