The Golden Eagles trailed for almost the whole first half but they kept the score close. Siena Heights largest lead (22-14) came with 6:36 remaining. The Golden Eagles immediately cut that lead to 22-19 after a 3-pointer by Ellisha Crosby and a 2-point basket by Brooke Carter. Cornerstone's only lead (27-26) of the half came with 1:30 left on the clock. The Saints outscored the Golden Eagles 7-2 to take a 33-29 lead into the locker-room. The teams came out in the second half and traded leads through the first 11 ½ minutes. Cornerstone retook the lead for good (48-47) when Melissa Veltkamp sank 2 free throws with 8:34 left in the game. Cornerstone scored the next 7 points to make it (55-47) with 6:27 remaining. The Saints would not get the score back under 8 points for the remainder of the game and the Golden Eagles finished with a 64-51 victory to move to 10-4 in the WHAC and 21-6 overall. Cornerstone remains tied with Concordia for 2nd place.
The Golden Eagles will travel over to Ann Arbor to play Concordia on Wednesday at 7:30. The winner of that game will most likely secure the 2nd Seed for the WHAC Tournament.
