Grand Rapids, Mich.-Head Coach Carla Fles
is proud to announce her first signing for the 2011 recruiting class. Jill Hendrickson, a 6-2 center from Forest Hills Central was listed as one of the top ten players in West Michigan by the Grand Rapids Press this season.
Hendrickson played a major role in the Rangers undefeated regular season last year. Their tournament run was cut short in the district championship game by Grand Rapids Christian. She was named All-Conference, All-Area, BCAM and Detroit Press Top 100. As a junior Hendrickson averaged 12ppg, 7rpg, 2apg and 3spg.
The Rangers have only one loss this season and currently sit atop the O.K Black standings.
"I am thrilled to have Jill join our team next year. She is one of the tallest players we have had since first team All-American Julie Vogelzang played (1998-2002). She is a strong athletic player who has a ton of potential. Her outgoing personality and strong commitment to the Lord make her a perfect fit for our team."
"I chose Cornerstone because I like Coach Fles' coaching philosophy, the way she manages her family and job and the success of the program. Cornerstone gives me the opportunity to grow spiritually and academically while giving me the chance to play the game I love. Of all the schools I visited, I felt the CU staff cared about me personally and about my success on and off the court. I am incredibly excited to be a part of the team."
