Derek Kingshott was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Third Team.  The academic award is selected by the College of Sports Information Directors of America and recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the floor and in the classroom.   

The Academic All-District ® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The University Division team includes NCAA Division I participants, while the College Division team combines NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.

 
Kingshott an education major on the men's basketball team is a junior and carries a 3.92 G.P.A., was selected to the District IV Third Team.  Kingshott has been a key reserve for the #3 Golden Eagles. He is averaging 4.8ppg, 3.3 rebounds and is shooting 59% from the floor.
 

First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the national Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where First, Second and Third Team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
