The Golden Eagles shot 56.9% (41-72) from the floor including 9-20 from 3-point range. Cornerstone also made 84.4% (27-32) of their shots from the foul line.
The Golden Eagles trailed a couple of times early in the game but they took a 13-12 lead with 14:24 left in the first half and would not trail for the remainder of the game. Cornerstone was up 31-23 with 7:36 on the clock and then they made 21-3 run in the next 3 minute to open up and 26 point (52-26) advantage. Cornerstone kept up the pressure and continued to increase their lead throughout the last 3 ½ minutes as they went into the locker room up 67-32. The Golden Eagles never saw the lead get below 31 points in the second half. The starters sat for most of the 2nd half and the players off the bench maintained and increased the lead for most of the half. Cornerstone's largest lead was 50 points (114-64 and 118-68) which came in the last 1 ½ minutes of the game. Cornerstone ended with a 48 point (118-70) victory over the Mustangs.
The #3 Golden Eagles will play host to Indiana Tech on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Cornerstone is dedicating this game to their friend Johnny Teis (former ball boy) who was diagnosed with a brain tumor back in May 2010. The game will be streamed live via the internet so that Johnny (who now lives in Arkansas) can watch the game.
