The Golden Eagles 42.3% from the field in the first half of the game against Indiana Wesleyan today but they came out in the 2nd half and shot a blistering 61.5% after the break which included 9-11 (81.8%) from long range. Cornerstone came shooting out of the blocks in the 2nd half and immediate built a 10 point lead after 2 Kelvin DeVries 3-pointers to start the half. Cornerstone would maintain that cushion for most of the 2nd half and eventually begin to build upon their lead down the stretch. The Golden Eagles built the lead to 24 when Justin Yoder buried a 3-pointer with 2:10 remaining in the game. Cornerstone would finish the half outscoring the Wildcats 52-35 in the 2nd half to coast to the 87-66 victory.
Five different Golden Eagles scored in double figures in the game. Caleb Simons, Bryan Pasciak, and Ronald Bates all scored 14 points each for Cornerstone. Kelvin DeVries and Justin Yoder added 13 apiece for the Golden Eagles. The Golden Eagles improve to 3-0 on the season. Cornerstone will return to action on Tuesday, November 16th when they travel down to Ft. Wayne to take on defending NAIA Division II Champs and current #1 University of St. Francis. That game will tip off at 7:00 p.m.
