Women's Soccer - Tue, Oct. 26, 2010
The Golden Eagles needed one win in the last two games in order to secure the top seed in the WHAC and they will still need a win on Saturday against Indiana Tech to secure that top seed after a 0-0 game today. The Golden Eagles battled to a scoreless tie this afternoon so they stay on top of the WHAC with 13 points to Siena Heights 12 points with one game remaining. Siena Heights has to travel to Livonia to take on Madonna in their last game while the Golden Eagles host Indiana Tech on Saturday. The Golden Eagles control their own destiny with a win against the Warriors. Cornerstone and Davenport played in very windy conditions and neither team found a way to put it in the back of the net. The Golden Eagles did have a couple of breakaways in the game but Davenport's keeper came off her line to make saves of both attempts. Both teams had 4 shots in the first half. Cornerstone out shot the Panthers 7-3 in the second half and 4-2 in the OT periods but couldn't put the ball in the back of the net. Cornerstone is now 10-5-1 on the season and 4-0-1 in the WHAC. Cornerstone will kick off at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday with the WHAC regular season title on the line.
