The women's soccer remained undefeated in the WHAC with a 2-1 home win over Madonna. The Golden Eagles started off with a bang when Maile Carigon
scored her first collegiate goal in the first minute of play. Carigon hit shot to the upper right corner of the goal from about 10 yards out to put Cornerstone up 1-0.
The Golden Eagles gave one back on an own goal about 10 minutes later to make the game 1-1. Cornerstone struck again late in the first half. Rachel Wood
took a pass from Maylani Siemasz
and hit a left footed shot into the upper left corner of the goal over the top of Madonna's keeper to give CU a 2-1 lead at the half. Both teams played to a scoreless tie in the 2nd half as Cornerstone went on to the 2-1 victory. Cornerstone improves to 9-5 overall and 3-0 in the WHAC. The Golden Eagles have the week off and will return to action on Saturday when they travel over to Ann Arbor to take on Concordia for a noon kickoff.
