Adrian, Mich.) CU's Richard Moylan scored his first goal of the season on a Matt Osorio and Nic Tolsma assist at the 33 minute mark to take a 1-0 lead over the host Siena Heights Saints. Seven minutes later Nic Tolsma carried the ball down the left side of the field and scored in the 40 minute to push the lead to 2-0. Siena countered with a goal of their own one minute later (41st minute) when Lindon Ivesic found the back of the net. Both team had 8 shots each in the first half with the score at 2-1 Cornerstone.
Siena scored in the 57th minute on a misplayed header to tie the score 2-2. At the 74 minute Brian Nimmo scored on a back side header assisted by Matt Osorio and Richard Moylan to take the lead one more time (3-2). Siena sent the game into overtime on a Doug Dawson goal in the 83rd minute. Siena Heights had 13 shots in the 2nd half to CU's 5 and they finished with a 26-20 edge with total shots. Neither team was able to score over two overtimes so they had to settle for a 3-3 tie. Cornerstone is now 4-5-2 overall and 0-0-1 in the WHAC while the Saints move to 7-4-1 and 0-0-1 in the WHAC. Cornerstone will play at conference rival Aquinas at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 13.
