Women's Soccer - Sat, Oct. 2, 2010

(Grand Rapids, Mich.) On a cold and windy homecoming afternoon the Golden Eagles hosted the Aquinas Saints in a non-conference matchup. Amanda Dudiak scored her first goal of the season in the 28th minute and was assisted by Kelley Ritsema and Amanda VanLaar. CU had 8 shots in the first half to just 2 by the Saints and took a 1-0 lead into half-time. The defense on both teams held strong throughout the entire 2nd half and neither team scored. CU added 5 more shots in the second half and Aquinas had 3 with none of them finding the back of the net. Goalkeeper Alyssa Morrow was credited with the win and had 2 saves on the game. Cornerstone improves to 7-4 overall and the Saints fall to 3-8 overall. The Golden Eagles have won four games in a row and look to continue that streak on Wednesday, October 6th when they travel to Aquinas for a conference game at 4pm.
