(Holland, Mich.) The Golden Eagles got their first win of the season today with a 1-0 win over Hope College. Cornerstone played pretty well throughout the first half creating a couple of good chances in front of Hope's goal but it wasn't until the 28th minute that the Golden Eagles would get on the scoreboard. Riley Steen took a pass from Nicole Dummer and made a diagonal run with the ball towards the top of the penalty box, cut the ball back onto her left foot and hit a shot into the upper right corner of the goal to give Cornerstone a 1-0 lead. Hope had a couple of chances as well in the first half but couldn't get one by GK Alyssa Morrow. Hope came out and possessed the ball a little more in the second half but still never got any real good shots on the goal. Hope ended up with 4 shots on goal to Cornerstone's 3 shots on goal. Cornerstone improves to 1-2 on the year and will return to action on Saturday when they host Bethel College (Ind.) at 2:00 p.m.
